Section 1: Leaving the Corporate Life in the US
For years, I hustled in the corporate world, working 9-5 jobs that left me unfulfilled. I realized that I needed a change – a drastic one. So, I decided to explore midlife by leaving the US and discovering new ways of stress-free living in other countries. That’s how my Colombian adventure began.
Leaving everything familiar behind was daunting, but I was excited for what lay ahead. I had heard so much about Colombia’s vibrant culture, delicious food, and friendly people. I knew that this was the perfect place to start my journey of self-discovery.
Section 2: Observing and Experiencing Life Beyond the Horizon
As soon as I landed in Colombia, I felt a sense of excitement. The people were warm and welcoming, and the country had an energy that was infectious. I spent my first few days wandering the streets, taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant country.
One of the things that struck me the most was the colorful culture. From the bright murals that adorned the walls to the traditional music that filled the air, Colombia was a feast for the senses. I spent hours exploring the markets, trying new foods, and learning about the customs and traditions of this beautiful country.
Section 3: Embracing a Stress-Free Lifestyle
One of the things that drew me to Colombia was the slower pace of life. In the US, I was always rushing from one thing to another, but here in Colombia, I had the chance to slow down and enjoy life. I spent my days exploring, writing, and connecting with the people around me.
One of the most memorable experiences I had was attending a local festival. The streets were full of people dancing, laughing, and celebrating life. It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best things in life are the simplest ones.
As I write this journal entry, I feel grateful for the opportunity to explore midlife in such a beautiful country. Colombia has exceeded my expectations in every way possible. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next.
